  3. OVERVIEW Audit and other course planning tools Electives and minors Basic registration tips & NEUR specific support Sample NMH 2nd, 3rd, 4th year course layout (Majors? Minors? Cog Sci?) Sample NEUR/BIOL, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year course layout (Majors?) Key Resources Post Undergraduate Pathways & Considerations in Current Degree

  4. AUDIT 101 Roadmap to your specific program elements. Follow this first. 1000-level credit allowance. Course requirements, courses taken/registered, NEEDS. When to use Undergraduate Calendar courses, prereqs, preclusions, regulations. When to use Carleton Central similar to above but specific time range. When to use websites/other.

  5. ELECTIVES & MINORS Intended to support breadth of study; allows for balance with core content. NMH programs have combination of science, non-science, and free electives. Neuro & Biology only calls for non-science electives. Refer to definitions and suggestions in our Guide to Choosing Electives Prerequisites / restrictions for electives, so consider this when planning. 1000-level courses limit across all programs for both mandatory and elective courses. For structure and concentration in one area, choose a minor (maybe two). Course sharing between minor and major program.

  6. REGISTRATION TIPS Draft worksheets ahead of time to ensure no registration errors. Look up exact time ticket in Carleton Central at end of June. Register in fall and winter courses at the same time. Always over register when in doubt; add name to waitlists; monitor email.
