Capabilities of Feedback-Controlled Gas Injection in OP2 Scenarios
Divertor and main gas injection systems in OP2 have sophisticated feedback controllers ensuring precise gas flow control. Diagnostic signals availability includes interferometer data, CoDa station information, bolometer readings, and more for OP2.1 and OP2.2. Various sensors and instruments are in place to monitor plasma conditions and facilitate effective experimentation.

Capabilities of the feedback-controlled gas injection in OP2.1 and OP2.2 Maciej Krychowiak TG Scenarios + Edge 21.2.2022
Divertor gas injection systems in OP2 Gas valves behind the divertor (close to the plasma) At all 10 divertors H2, He, N2, Ne, CH4, C2H6 , Ar; p<10 bar (OP2.1), <63 bar (OP2.2) All hardware and software work almost done thermal helium beam/ divertor gas injection 5 independent nozzles divertor gas injection 1 nozzle
Main gas injection systems in OP2 AEZ10, AEZ20, AEZ30, AEZ40, AEZ50 (high field side) AEO30 (low field side) Same feedback controller available as for divertor gas injection Valves outside the ports (intrinsic delays) Flow controller at the valves available (e.g. keeping constant gas flow possible) Standard controller: PID, with Te as additional constrain Input signal: combination of all signals possible (arithmetic parametric formula) Other algorithms on request (simplified CN procedure agreed) Specification of the feedback control: 1-QSQ-S0012
Diagnostic signals availability (status Feb. 2022) OP1.2 OP2.1 OP2.2 Interferometer (ne) FPGA (analog signal) CoDa station CoDa station (FPGA with real time network interface?) Available for OP2.1 (FPGA with real time network interface?) ECE (Te, only as boundary condition) Analog signal (O2 mode) X2 or X3 mode CoDa station CoDa station CoDaC: almost ready (should be available for OP2.1) X3 radiometer in purchasing process Main bolometer (Prad_tot) Analog signal Filterscopes (line emission in divertor: HeI, CII, CIII, ne, Te ) Analog signal Probably FCS Divertor bolometer (Prad_tot) FCS FCS CoDaC: substantial work to be done (first tests in OP2.1) Neutral gas manometer (nH) CoDa station CoDa station CoDaC: almost done (should be ready for OP2.1) Magnetics (Wdia) CoDa station CoDaC: all done CoDa station IR cameras (Tsurf) FCS will be implemented, CFIS for OP2.1, feedback first tests in OP2.1 FCS CoDa station: possible delays in uploading signals to the real time network FCS: deterministic
