CAIR 2.0 Bigger, Better, Faster!
Agenda Why CAIR 2.0? What is CAIR 2.0? What s not changing? What s changing? When will it happen and how? Timelines and milestones Training Data Migration How to prepare? What providers can do now
Why CAIR 2.0? The California Immunization Registry (CAIR) is getting even better. We re implementing a new, faster, Immunization Information System (IIS) with many new features such as easy integration with EHR systems. No more double entry! The same software has already been successful in 17 other states. You will be able to access immunization information from across the state. All existing immunization data from the regional registries in California are being combined into one system.

CAIR 2.0 is Bigger Access to more patient records statewide means new patients are more likely to be in the system, decreasing time for data entry, increasing record completeness, decreasing needless repeating of vaccinations.
CAIR 2.0 is Better No more double-entry. EHRs that have HL7 standards can access CAIR data from their EHR after an easy automated system check. Inventory will be automatically adjusted in CAIR after recording in your EHR and vice versa. State-of-the-art software works with any browser and is web- based so no downloading or installation is required. Built-in help options link to video demonstrations and other resources from where you need it within the software.
CAIR 2.0 is Faster No more waiting to give yellow cards to your patients. New servers will increase band width improving performance. Information entered into the system is immediately accessible. Data is updated in real-time and is patient- specific. If another provider such as an ER or pharmacy enters a shot for your patient into CAIR, it will immediately show up in your CAIR and EHR patient records.
Whats not changing? The functions you love are still here. You can add historical shots; update demographic or vaccine information; run inventory and usage reports; even run your own reminder/recall letters! We re committed to supporting you. We ll be making training available to help you learn how to navigate the new look of CAIR 2.0. Plus, we ll have help desk support just an email or phone call away, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00. Data confidentiality and privacy is still of primary importance. We re committed to maintaining and improving our security protocols with strict password protection.
Whats changing - Some new features Can search for patients throughout CAIR regions Faster flow of data from EMR into CAIR Decrementing doses in CAIR inventory for DE submitters Bi-directional flow of shot records between your EMR and CAIR Push-button CoCASA-like reports and Ad hoc reporting capability School module w/ roster status report (compliant, missing doses)
