  2. BLTS Agreement Biggest Little Trail Stewardship (BLTS) introduction BLTS (formerly Poedunks) have been a non-profit trail organization in this region since 2007. Originally focused on trail construction and maintenance on Peavine Mountain. Name changed in 2016 as the group expanded trail interests outside of the Peavine Mountain area. International Mountain Bike Association member chapter since 2017.

  3. BLTS Agreement BLTS Mission The mission of the Biggest Little Trail Stewardship is to build, maintain and advocate for sustainable trails throughout the greater Reno community.

  4. BLTS Agreement BLTS Goals Be a model trail building organization and IMBA chapter Maintain a healthy honest relationship with land managers Seek approval for new trails Build a trail network all the way around Peavine Mountain

BLTS Agreement BLTS Goals - continued Improve the connectivity of the Reno area s trails and trail heads Connect to other regional trail networks in Nevada and California Provide trail signage and electronic mapping Support local bike parks Assist other trail groups and community organizations

  6. BLTS Agreement Proposed Agreement Now that Washoe County has a Trails Program Coordinator, we can focus more time and effort on Washoe County trails. Staff and BLTS would work closely together on trail design, construction, repair and maintenance needs. I d like to introduce Curtis Johnson, president of BLTS for a presentation to go more in depth on who BLTS is and what they have accomplished over the past 15 years in the Reno area.

  7. BLTS Agreement Possible Motion Should the Commission agree with staff s recommendation, a possible motion would be: Move to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners approval of an agreement between Washoe County and Biggest Little Trail Stewardship (BLTS) for the construction and maintenance of trails within the Washoe County Open Space and Regional Parks system.
