  1. Belief In John What Does John s Gospel Say About The Gospel And Faith?

  2. Belief In John The apostle John seemed to have a special place in the life of Christ. We find him almost singled out in many instances When Jesus went before the High priest (Jn 18:15-16) Jesus put forth Mary His earthly mother to John who had not scattered (Jn 19:27) Jesus told him he would tarry till He came (Jn 21:21-*23) John was identified as the disciple to whom Jesus loved (Jn 13:24; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7; 21:20)...

  3. Belief In John John s gospel account begins with the Deity of Christ (Jn 1:1-3) John s records John Baptist say that Jesus was the Savior of the world (Jn 1:29, 36) John s gospel account has much to say about Belief In Jesus

  4. Belief In John The word faith {pistis} is not recorded in the John s gospel account, however the word believe {pisteuo} is stated some 100 times in its various forms {pisteuo} to think to be true; to be persuaded of; to credit, place confidence in Ultimately believe in means to trust in

  5. Belief In John John s Gospel Account Teaches The True Nature of Faith Faith is trust. When one has faith he has trust in the one to whom the faith is implored. The Man Born Blind (Jn 9:1-38)

  6. Belief In John John s Gospel Account Teaches Us The Importance of Repentance The woman caught in adultery was told to repent (Jn 8:1-*10- 11) The man of Bethesda was told to repent (Jn 5:1-*14) The Jews sought to kill him because He healed the man on the sabbath day (vss. 15-16)

  7. Belief In John John s Gospel Account Teaches Us The Importance of Confessing Christ Confessing Christ is an acknowledgement of His identity and belief of all that encompasses Nathaniel (Jn 1:43-49) Peter (Jn 6:68-69) Martha (Jn 11:24-27) The Samaritans (Jn 4:39-42)

  8. Belief In John John s Gospel Account Teaches Us The Importance of Baptism John s baptism John s baptism was for repentance to the remission of sins (Mk 1:4; Lk 3:3) John s baptism justified men before God at it s time (Lk 7:29- 30) John s gospel shows it was by water (Jn 3:22-25) This brought up a question about purification (vs 25 Cf Jn 4:1- 2) One had to be born of water and the spirit (Jn 3:3-5)

  9. Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode. And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. And many believed on him there. (John 10:39 42 KJV)

  10. Belief In John John s Gospel Account Teaches The Response To The Word The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:7 14 KJV)
