Combined HR Report March 2021 Highlights Staff Headcount and FTE continues to increase very slowly. The number of female staff members has increased by 5% with the number of male staff members increasing by 8%. Staff turnover is at its lowest point for 24 months and continues to decrease. Sickness absence duration and cost have decreased, and short-term absences have decreased significantly. Staff in Post Headcount and FTE There has been a minimal increase in staff over the last 6 months. The average % FTE has increased from 81% to 83% in the last 3 months, meaning staff members are working slightly longer hours on average. Combined HR Report - March 2021 2
Staff in Post - Gender The headcount of female staff members increased by 17 when comparing January 2020 to Feb 2021. This is a 5% increase. The headcount of male staff members has increased by 8 for the same period. This is an 8% increase. Combined HR Report - March 2021 3
Staff Movements - Starters and Leavers There have been a total of 66 starters and 41 leavers between April 2020 and February 2021. Staff turnover has been decreasing steadily for the last 12 months and is at its lowest rate for 2 years. Combined HR Report - March 2021 4
Sickness Absence Management - Highlights There has been a continued reduction in sickness absences year to year evident in both % FTE Workforce absence and Cost savings of over 76k Working from home and working flexibly may be contributing to the reduction in sickness across all possible reasons. Reported absences related to COVID-19 account for 120 working days of sickness, although there may have been a number of absences which were not recorded against this new metric. Sickness Absence Tracking and Forecast (% Workforce and Cost) The cumulative FTE Days lost due to sickness absence in 2020 has fallen 9% compared to 2019. There has also been a 16% cost saving year on year which equates to approximately 76k. Combined HR Report - March 2021 6
Sickness Absence Analysis Duration Between 2019 and 2020, the average number of days per absence has increased from 8 days to 12 days. This is because of the reduction in short-term absences. Short-term absence has decreased in cost by 9% while mid and long-term absence has increased slightly, Combined HR Report - March 2021 7
Sickness Absence Analysis Absence Reason Absence due to Mental Health reasons has seen a cost-saving of 5k year on year. Individual absence incidents for this reason have fallen by 12%. Short-term absence for Colds and Gastrointestinal reasons have fallen in number by more than 50% each year on year Current data is showing 12 working days lost due to COVID-19 at a cost of approximately 17k.
