  1. Objectives: 1) To find the area of a trapezoid, rhombus or a kite

  2. The height of a trapezoid is the perpendicular distances h between the bases. A = 1/2h(b +b )

  3. Example: Find Area A car window is shaped like a trapezoid shown. Find the area of the window.

  4. Theorem: Area of a Rhombus or a Kite The area of a rhombus or a kite is half the product of the lengths of its diagonals. A = 1/2d d

  5. Example: Finding the Area of a Kite Find the area of kite ABCD.

  6. Example: Find the Area of a Rhombus Remember the properties of a rhombus!! Find the area of rhombus EFGH.

  7. Homework Handed-In Page 376 #1-7, 14-21, 42, 43
