Students can find their advisor in: The Navigate app (download Navigate Student in ap store once installed select Plymouth State) DegreeWorks myPlymouth In myPlymouth, click Self Service PSU Student Academic Record/Registration. If you're still not sure who your advisor is, stop by our office (Speare 108) and ask! To find their schedule in myPlymouth, click Self Service PSU Student Academic Record/Registration scroll to the bottom left to see schedule. How Do Students Find Their Advisor and Schedule?

Banner Registration system: Type Register for a course in the search bar OR How To Get To The Registration System myPlymouth Self Service- PSU Student Academic Record/Registration registration (on left panel) register for classes Spring 2024 Select Browse Classes during advising weeks Select Register for Classes during registration week
Advising Weeks: Monday, October 16th until Friday, October 27th Six Week Grades 2nd Half Semester Course Options (Quick link on Advising Tab of myPlymouth) Go over classes for next semester Give out PIN Check on their overall experience? Track who plans to transfer/withdraw Use this time to connect with students about
How to Find PINS Go to: myPlymouth Self Service- PSU Advisor Services Select ID or Name. If name: Last Name, First Name View Profile Registration Notices (top right) ACAC will send out a list of your advisees with PINS Wednesday
Registration Process Registration opens on Monday October 30th at 7am, for undergraduate degree-seeking students and all graduate students. Next slide shows the exact date for each class New incoming transfer students will begin registration toward the end of the term New incoming students will start to register at the end of the term
Registration Dates Please note that registration will be open for one week, and then close for each group: Monday October 30that 7am, through Friday November 3rdat 4:30pm Athletes, President s and Dean s lists (based on Spring 2023 grades) with 60 or more earned credits, and all students registered with Campus Accessibility Services Tuesday October 31stat 7am, through Friday November 3rdat 4:30pm students with 60 or more earned credits Monday November 6that 7am, through Friday November 10that 4:30pm Athletes, President s and Dean s lists (based on Spring 2023 grades) with less than 60 earned credits Tuesday November 7that 7am, through Friday November 10that 4:30pm students with less than 60 earned credits
Problem Solving Week registration is closed to allow for problem- solving (eg: holds). Mon. November 20th, 7:00 AM November 13-17th Registration will reopen on Monday, November 20that 7am, and remain open through Spring 2024 add/drop.
Holistic Advisors: Advising the Whole Student Examines all aspects of a student s life, not just their academic journey Health (physical, social, emotional, and mental wellbeing) Academics (progress and time to degree, majors, minors, etc.) Career Aspirations/Explorations Challenges/Successes Involvement (clubs, work study, events, etc.) Referral Agent (connect students with available campus resources-ACAC SharePoint Page has complete list) Help Build Confidence and Offer Encouragement Relationship building
Conversation Starters How is your world? How are classes? Do you think any are going to be a challenge? How is dorm life? Do you live off campus? What is your biggest stress in this moment? Have you joined any clubs or sports? Do you know what ones we offer? Things going okay with your roommates? Are you eating? Happy with the dining hall? Tell me something interesting about you. Is your major the right fit? Have you been talking to home a lot? How often do you go home? On a scale from one to ten, what is your experience at PSU so far? What would make it a ten? What conversation starters do you use?

Make yourself accessible How does the student contact you? What and where are your office hours? How do they sign up for appointments (Navigate) Communicate early and regularly Keeping Students in the Loop Remind about dates and deadlines (add/drop, withdrawals, activities fair, degree application, etc.) Let them know of your social media pages Students may need guidance all semester long, not just during pre-reg. How do you keep students in the loop?

Supporting Students Who Want A Change in Major Listen to reasons why Support the student s decision to change Do they know what major they want? Suggest intro course to new major Know who to refer the student to discuss possible new major The link to coordinators is now on the majors and minors forms Are they still unsure of what their major options are? Go over each major in the catalog Show IDS website or Handout Major Change Process Online Forms (EMAIL TEMPLATE)
Helping Students Having Academic Difficulty Review 3-week alerts/6-Week Grades Book appointments for them in Navigate Is there something else going on? Try to meet weekly/bi-weekly semester courses Who do you want to make proud? Come up with 3 goals for the week Email each professor, cc me Recommend Counseling Center if you feel it would help See a tutor?
Financial Implications If you drop after add/drop you pay for a class you did not complete You actually pay for this one class multiple times W looks better than an F, and will not impact your GPA Semester courses (not over 18 credits) SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) 1st year (0-30), Sophomore (31-60), Junior (60-90), Senior (90+)
