n the active voice
, the sentence’s subject performs the action.
The passive of an active tense
is formed by putting the verb “to be”
into the same tense as the active verb and adding the past
participle of the active verb. The
subject
of the active verb
becomes the
‘agent’
of the passive verb (the object in active
become subject in passive). The agent is very often not mentioned.
When it is mentioned it is preceded by “by” and placed at the end of
the clause.
Pattern:
.... +Tobe + Verb 3 (Past participle)+ .....
Example
:
I
eat
banana
(Active)
Banana
is eaten
by
me
(Passive)
To be:
is, am are (Present)
was, were (Past)
been (Past participle)
being (Continuous).

We can't use the passive voice with intransitive verbs (verbs that have no object).
Example:
Active:
He fixed the clock. (fixed = transitive; the clock = the object)
Passive:
The clock was fixed by him.
Active:
He laughed.
They're coming over.
An accident has happened.
Passive:
(No Pasive)

The verbs “laugh, come, happen” are intransitive. There are no objects; therefore there
is no possibility of making these sentences into the passive voice.
With state verbs, some of them can be used in the passive voice and others cannot.
Verbs that can be used in the passive voice include need, know, include, involve, love,
hate, see, hear, feel.
Example:

: We need some books.
Passive
: Some books are needed by us.

The car is being fixed by the him. Simple Future Tense He will fix the car. The car will be fixed by him. Present Perfect Tense He has fixed the car. The car has been fixed by him.
