The benefits and value of goal setting Setting goals helps trigger new behaviors, helps guide your focus and helps you sustain momentum in life. Goals help align focus and promote a sense of self-mastery. You can t manage what you don t measure, and you can t improve upon something that you don t properly manage. Goals provide a tangible way to assess your personal and professional progress
SMART Goals The SMART goal method is used to help develop clear and achievable goals. SMART is an acronym that stands for; Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time based
The job search SMART goal Specific I will update my CV by the first of June . Measurable I will reach out to four contacts each month to discuss opportunities and openings for me. Achievable don t set yourself up for failure by setting goals that are not achievable. Realistic honestly evaluate your situation, if you want to retain or change careers, is this realistic financially and professionally? Time based Giving yourself a finite timeframe will provide structure.
