Be cautious about a roommate your first year of law school! Make sure your study habits and social habits are compatible. Check the available housing from the school or get a roommate before renting alone. Use the Facebook page to see if anyone who owns a home has a room to rent Personally, I recommend living alone if you can afford it. I wish that I could afford to but one bedrooms are pricey in the NKU area. Try to talk to potential roommates extensively before moving it and shop around various areas for the best price. My fifteen commute now isn t bad but I do wish I still lived in my old apartment five minutes from NKU. The area is nice and always something to do within a short commute so don t let distance to recreational activities or stores limit you. Northern View is a good option if you aren't worried about having randomly selected roommates. I felt like the facilities and condition of the apartment were not too bad but my experience overall was horrible only because my roommates that were matched with me were very messy. Otherwise, it's not a bad complex especially because it is walking distance from classes. Get as close to campus as possible. The commute isn't that bad ... the traffic, accidents, and construction are the nightmares.

Save money, live a couple extra miles away from campus. If you have children, Boone County schools have the best testing scores out of Boone, Kenton, or Campbell counties. In fact Ryle high school is a Ky top 10 school, which means the middle and elementary school that feed into the high schools are excellent as well. However, and this has happened several times this year, there has been 3-5 inches of snow in Boone County but absolutely nothing around NKU. So the commute is always interesting. My apartment complex offers a pet fee. $25 extra a month for pets. Be sure to pick a community that is esthetically pleasing because when school gets tough you can still find peace in your home. Then design your living space to model your future office to keep your goal at the forefront of your mind. Before coming to Chase, I knew nobody. I'd never been to Kentucky except to visit Chase (for all of 48 hours). I had no friends in Kentucky, and I was coming to Kentucky alone. (My husband lived in Iowa, 12 hours away, for the entirety of law school). Why am I telling you this? Because even from Northwest Iowa, I managed to find a place to live. Even the students who are coming from a distance who don't know anyone should be able to find a place to live. I reached out in a few different ways: I emailed some local churches to see if they had congregation members who owned apartments, I asked the Office of Admissions where students lived and they graciously pointed me a few directions, and I used the Chase FaceBook group. By compiling all these resources, I found a place to live. So if housing is what is causing an incoming student to hesitate, there are plenty of places to live and there always seems to be available housing, depending on

I enjoy the convenience of being within walking distance to the school. Live somewhere that you re comfortable but keep in mind that the closest places to campus are lived in by mostly students and this was not what I wanted as a student and why I love where I am. Great friendly environment. Very flexible with accommodating students. Rent includes all utilities. Is within walking of the school so you won't have to buy a parking pass. You can have your own bedroom and bathroom if you want. I recommend registering early as they are popular and have a long wait list. You will have to go a couple miles away for good housing, but it is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend trying to find a roommate. I would recommend to live alone if you can afford to. Living alone in law school allows you the freedom to study quietly at home if needed and to have your own time. Apartments close to campus have high rent payments. So, consider living a little further away to save money. Look for private homeowners. You can usually get a better deal and they won t look at credit and stuff as much as a cooperation.

I would suggesting having a roommate also in law school. It makes it easier to study and de-stress with. Try to have roommates if possible, it will definitely help lower expenses, especially when it comes to utilities. Get roommates or find something close to Campus. Newport/Bellevue area. Look on Zillow for houses to rent!
