  1. Texas Pecan Board Mission To better the lives of Texas pecan farm families through improved farm productivity, enhanced market strategies, and promotion of Texas pecan farm families and their pecan products.

The existence of Texas Pecan Board makes Grants for Texas more likely Texas Department of Agriculture International Marketing Agriculture Commodity Export Support (ACES) grant $85,000 to TPB in 2022 TPGA, TPB Application in 2023 for $140,000 for promotion in Canada, China, Columbia, Europe, Japan, Mexico, Middle East, Peru, South Korea, Vietnam USDA FAS Agricultural Trade Promotion (ATP) program Funding of $4.1 M earmarked for TDA of which the largest % designated for PECANS! Work with TPGA; TPB; Individual growers/shellers/value-added companies enabling GROWER trips to Dubai and Germany USDA Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops (TASC) Grant $25,000 (TDA with TPB and TPGA) to explore border barriers for U.S. pecans with Mexico Partnering with TAMU AgriLife Extension and Center for North American Studies USDA Emerging Market Program (EMP) $264,000 (TDA with TPB and TPGA) to promote U.S. pecans in Mexico Wild Hive developing marketing and outreach plans

  3. Contributrion from NMSU , NMDA for $30K Dr. Suh ARS Entomologist to study Pecan Weevil. This type of contribution can only go to an organization affiliated with a state Dept of Agriculture and here that is the Texas Pecan Board. I heard a big western grower say: Keeping Weevil out of the west is the most important preventative measure there is. The Texas Pecan Board and TDA has been, is, and will be (if funded) trying to keep the West free of Weevil. ****Trucks turned back that were out of compliance ****Studies **** Compliance agreements
