What is your tone? Step one of any of your audit process . Question: What is the tone at the top?? What is your tone as a leader in your internal audit or risk management units Set the right tone !!!!
Introspection One of the greatest attributes of any leader is the ability to do introspection. Charity starts at home. You first.
Internal audit being an eagle Where eagles dare. Eagles fly alone at a high altitude, not with flocks of sparrows or pigeons. Eagles possess a strong vision, and can focus on objects up to 5 kilometers below. The same way, we should have a vision and remain focused, no matter what the obstacles, and you will succeed. Eagle have clarity in thought. Eagles do not eat dead things. Do your research well, always. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The Eagle is the only bird that loves the storm. (Ride the storm) The male eagle flies back to earth to pick thorns and lays them on top of the twigs. Similarly, we should build our nests one day at a time. (Bit by bit)

Role models Influence through actions/deeds can be subtle, powerful and direct. Transformation begins with you. If you cant manage your self how can your staff and the organisation look to you as a ROLEMODEL to build upon?
Risk management You are an expert on risk management how do you manage your own risk Do you have a strategy Have you identified your risks Have you assessed and prioritised them Have you designed mitigation Do you monitor yourself
