  3. Corneal ulcer DESCRIPTION May be caused by an infection, a foreign body in the eye, abrasions on the eye surface, severely dry eye or wearing contact lenses that are left in overnight. Presents with blurring vision, photophobia, painful &watery eye, white patches on cornea, inflamed conjunictiva. CHANGES New STG added REASON Common condition that presents at primary level of care. 3

  4. Eye injury/Foreign bodies DESCRIPTION Presents with disturbance of vision, complaints of foreign body in the eye that may not be visible, pain and lacrimation. Metallic foreign body embedded in the cornea appears as a cloudy spot with a dark speck (the metal splinter) in the centre.
