Their paths diverge until Dorothy enters their lives, setting the stage for a new chapter.

The untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West You may think you know the story, but you really don t. It all starts when Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) is sent to a school called Shiz to take care of her sister Nessarose. When they arrive at Shiz, instead of being roommates with her sister, she is paired with a girl named Glinda. Glinda is the most popular girl on campus and is very sweet, kind, and nice. At first, they hate each other and don t get along, but then they work out their differences and become friends. When Elphaba and Glinda become friends, Glinda decides to give Elphaba a makeover. Elphaba agrees so Glinda gives Elphaba a makeover while singing the song Popular. ( There is a video on the next slide of Glinda singing Popular. )

The untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West continued Back to the story Glinda and Elphaba were becoming best friends. Even though Elphaba was green and not very nice, Glinda wanted to be friends with her. Like in every fairy tale story, there is a prince charming. In this case, he was Fiyero. Fiyero liked Glinda so they went to the ball together. Elphaba didn t like Fiyero at all. She thought he was snotty and mean, but in the second half of the musical, she realized he was actually a kind hearted person. So she started to like him too. That caused Elphaba and Glinda to get in a fight. Glinda thought Fiyero liked her and that they were perfect together but, Elphaba thought Fiyero liked her and that they were perfect together. Fiyero didn t like Glinda though he liked Elphaba. When Glinda found out, she was heart broken. Because she is so nice though, she went and apologized to Elphaba for fighting with her.
The untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West Continued Then, everything was good and Glinda and Elphaba sang For Good (There is a video on the next slide of Glinda and Elphaba singing For Good ), but Elphaba knew that no one would accept her for who she was, so she became known as the Wicked Witch of the West. Glinda tried to stop Elphaba from becoming Wicked, but it was too late. Elphaba found an abandoned castle and decided that was her home. As for Glinda, she was still a kind hearted girl who loved helping people in need. Glinda and Elphaba never spoke again. That is until Dorothy dropped in, but that is a whole different story.
