VIRTUAL STUDENT EXPECTATIONS VIRTUAL WORK SETTINGS Free of objects not utilized for instruction Visible to teacher in order to observe working space and student, especially during testing Eating and drinking NOT ALLOW during visual instruction When possible, student are encouraged to work in isolated area free of distractions. If not, parents may advise individual teacher separately (email). Student will follow instructions from their teachers regarding best method of communicating and participating during virtual schooling.
VIRTUAL STUDENT EXPECTATIONS STUDENT DRESS CODE Wear appropriate clothing, that does not distract the virtual learning Refrain from engaging in behavior prohibited by policy Remain engaged in instruction and participate according to teachers directives.
VIRTUAL STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Students are expected to look presentable regardless of the location in which learning occurs. To ensure continuity of expectations for appropriate dress while participating in the virtual learning environment, dress code requirements outlined [see policy #6021] for elementary, middle, and high shall apply. However, when a video of a student s full body will not be captured, reasonable flexibility is provided for bottoms (e.g. pants, shorts, skirts) and footwear.

VIRTUAL CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS CATEGORY E Habitual and/or excessive tardiness Class cutting Intentional disturbance of class or other virtual classes Possession of cellular devices or other electronic communication devices without permission Dress code violation including wearing clothing that exposes underwear or body parts in an indecent manner that disrupts the learning environment
VIRTUAL CONSEQUENCES PROGRESSIVE DISCIPLINE WILL BE FOLLOWED BEFORE ISSUANCE CLEARED VIRTUALLY (Parent/designee and student) VIRTUALLY ASSIGNED IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION
ANTI BULLYING SAFE SCHOOLS Treat all others with dignity and respect; "If I am a victim of bullying or if I witness a bullying incident, I will report it to an adult immediately." Refrain from any behavior that constitutes bullying, including, but not limited to: Cyber bullying, harassment (sexual, verbal, etc.), name calling, hitting, threatening or intimidating, maliciously teasing and taunting, making sexual remarks, stealing or damaging others belongings, spreading rumors about others, or encouraging others to reject or exclude someone. How to Report incident of Bullying If a student is the victim of cyberbullying, harassment, and/or intimidation he or she can: Make an in-person report of the incident immediately to a teacher via chat box Make a report by calling 901-416-2132 or 416-5300 Make a written report of the incident by emailing scshelp@scsk12.org
VIRTUAL PARENT EXPECTATIONS Parents should: familiarize themselves with Policies to assist with communicating behavioral expectations to students SCS Policy 6022-Student Conduct SCS Policy 6026-Discipline Appeals SCS Policy 6046-Bullying Communicate regularly with teachers and administrators regarding student s status Ensure student s wear appropriate clothing that does not distract virtual learning process Provide appropriate working areas for students
