Namibia's private sector is actively engaging with the green hydrogen industry through the establishment of task forces and collaborative initiatives across the value chain. The government's focus on renewable energy development and local economic growth is driving efforts to maximize revenue and supply green hydrogen locally, regionally, and internationally. Various Namibian business associations and organizations play a key role in promoting and regulating the sector, fostering stakeholder engagement, research, and development, and supporting startups and SMEs to benefit from the emerging opportunities in the green hydrogen market.

Introduction The Government of Namibia is focusing efforts on achieving: large-scale, low-cost Renewable Energy development designing models for sustainably maximizing fiscal revenue and local development in Renewable Energy, and in green hydrogen investments, and derivatives thereof. production for local, regional and international supply. The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has facilitated the establishment of the Namibia Private Sector Green Hydrogen Task Force Namibia Private Sector Green Hydrogen Task Force Core mandate to ensure inclusive participation by Namibian players in the hydrogen sector across the entire value chain (large industrial groups, SMEs, start-ups, laboratories and R&D centers, clusters and territorial authorities, etc.) bring together Namibian players in the hydrogen sector across the entire value chain

Functions of the Task force Work Group Tasks 1 Green Hydrogen Value Chain Opportunities Working Group Identify upstream and downstream opportunities for the private sector; Identify strategies to maximize involvement and beneficiation by the Namibian private sector; Assess and define the GH2 value chain within the Namibian context Promote and showcase Namibian companies, and their offers in the hydrogen sector, to foreign public and private decision-makers and clients; Provide collective support to Namibian companies in the hydrogen value chain in order to facilitate the identification of business opportunities & partnerships, the identification of relevant actors and decision-makers for their projects and for their financing on local and foreign markets; Provide insight and guidance on the integration of local investors and entrepreneurs in the sector; Voice and amplify the messages conveyed by the Namibian hydrogen value chain to public and private decision-makers; 2 Namibian Business Promotion Working Group 3 Review the regulatory framework, which the various branches of the GH2 value chains fall in and offer recommendations or propose amendments to remove constraints and to protect the environment. Regulatory Framework Review Working Group 4 Ensure that all Namibians are included and no one is left out in benefiting from this industry Ensure Namibians are informed, and are aware, of the developments of this new industry. Stakeholder Engagement Working Group 5 Research to enhance local participation at different stages, and to unlock markets in Africa Contribute to the skills development required by the GH2 sector by offering inputs into curriculum and course developments (at high schools, VTC and universities). Research & Development Working Group drive Namibia s private sector involvement in, and beneficiation from, the Green Hydrogen industry

Conclusion The Task Force has been established to engage with public and private decision- makers and relevant players while promoting and showcasing Namibian companies' solutions, offers and projects; Stakeholders are invited to collaborate with the taskforce; Private sector participants can contribute to the development of Green Hydrogen Value Chain, in Namibia, by communicating through through their respective Associations; Together we will make it happen Come together Namibian players in the green hydrogen sector across the entire value chain
