  1. Daniel 1 & 2 Faithfulness Daniel and God

  2. At that time Berodach-Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick. And Hezekiah was attentive to them, and showed them all the house of his treasures the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armory all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them. Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah, and said to him, What did these men say, and from where did they come to you? So Hezekiah said, They came from a far country, from Babylon. And he said, What have they seen in your house? So Hezekiah answered, They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them. Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD: Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD. And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. (2 Kings 20:12 18 NKJV)

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him. I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king s demand. (Daniel 2:20 23 NKJV)

Faithfulness In Daniel Chapter 2 God s Faithfulness Nebuchadnezzar s Dream Daniel reveals the dream and its interpretation to Nebuchadnezzar (vss. 24-45) Important Observations So Far God is sovereign and is the one who gave and revealed the dream and its interpretation (Dan 2:19,22,28-29,47) Daniel and his companions trust in God s sovereignty is evident in their prayer to and Daniel s praise of the God of heaven (2:18, 20-23,30,*37- 38) The Most High rules in the kingdom of men (Dan 4:17,25,32; 5:21)

  15. The image The head of gold (Babylonian Empire [Daniel, Ezekiel]) The chest and arms of silver (Medo- Persian Empire [Ester, Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi]) The belly and thighs of bronze (Grecian Empire [Years of Silence]) The legs of iron and feet mixed with iron and clay (Roman Empire [entire New Testament era]) Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure. (Daniel 2:45 NKJV)

  16. And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. (Daniel 2:44 NKJV) The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD S house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. (Isaiah 2:1 2 NKJV)

  18. Faithfulness In Daniel Chapter 2 God s Faithfulness In the days of these kings will God establish this kingdom (2:44) It will never be destroyed (Lk 1:31-33; 2 Pet 1:11) It will not be left to other people (Eph 1:22-23 Cf Psa 8:6; Col 1:18 Cf Dan 7:14,27) It will break into pieces and consume all these kingdoms (2:34-35; 1 Pet 2:6-8)...

  19. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. (1 Corinthians 15:24 26 NKJV)
