Katie Morag and the Two Grandmothers
We have been learning to write descriptions. We have written descriptions of Katie Morag and Grannie Island or Grannie Mainland.
Write a description of someone in your family. Remember to describe :- What they look like Who they live with Where they live Their personality Their likes/dislikes What they enjoy doing
Use adjectives to make it interesting. pretty handsome tidy untidy neat scruffy posh plain fancy messy kind grumpy caring loving
Grannie ____________ Grannie Island lives alone on a farm on the Isle of Struay. She is kind and loving but can be a bit grumpy with Grannie Mainland. Grannie Island is quite old and has grey hair which she wears in a bun. She prefers to wear sensible, hard-wearing clothes such as dungarees and wellies. Grannie Island is untidy. Grannie Island likes looking after her animals, spending time with her family and driving her tractor. She dislikes fancy clothes, jewellery and make up. Grannie Mainland lives on the Scottish mainland but often visits her family on the Isle of Struay. She has to travel on the ferry to get there. She is posh and loves to wear fancy clothes and accessories. She has short, grey, curly hair and wears make up and perfume. Grannie Mainland is kind and helpful and likes to keep everything neat and tidy. She doesn t like mess and gets upset when she loses her precious ear-ring. Neilly Beag thinks Grannie Mainland is a wee smasher.
