Law Enforcement Priority concerns Commercial Fishers FGIs Fishery Managers Workshop Optimize management efforts through strong partnerships and collaboration efforts between DNER staff and Ranger Corps. Improve public relations between law enforcement and communities. Well defined intervention protocol, encompassing safety rules for rangers and fishers. Continuous education trainings Lack of enforcement Multar vs. Orientar : Educational enforcement Recreational fishers Repetative interventions from DNER, FURA, USCG Species Identification Intervention protocol o Intervention procedures o Safety (ex. divers)
Fishery Managers Workshop Action Plan Establish collaborative efforts between FURA, DNER Ranger Corps and Municipal Police. Train a select group of rangers and certify them to train others within their unit. Practice more interpretative enforcement.
