The Republic of Iraq's Ministry of Health and Environment, Directorate of Mine Action, leverages virtual reality technology, particularly VR goggles, to raise awareness of explosive hazards in urban and rural areas. By using VR goggles, over 2000 humanitarian workers benefitted from immersive training sessions enhancing their ability to identify dangerous elements, especially in Baghdad, Erbil, Mosul, and Anbar. The initiative also includes various outreach methods like posters, notebooks, and media channels to ensure safe behaviors in at-risk communities.
