  2. Polytheism Religious belief that there are several gods or goddesses which exist and which rule the universe as separate and distinct entities. Its hundreds of gods to choose from some were minor or local gods, while others were more important and much more powerful Characterizes virtually all religions other Judaism, Christianity, and Islam

  3. Gods & Goddesses Egyptians are very religious and always painted in and on tombs to resemble their afterlife Osiris and Isis were very significant to the egyptians.

  4. A Fateful Test Osiris and Isis had promised the Egyptians eternal life after death. People have to pass a test in order to win eternal life.

  5. The Book of the Dead It contains spells, charms, and formulas for the dead to use in the afterlife but some spells have no structure. Also it includes a negative confession, which the dead soul could use to prove his or her worthiness to osiris.

  6. Mummification Egyptians believed that the afterlife would be much like the Earth so they buried the dead with everything they would need for eternity. It helped someone reach the afterlife as they thought, the dead person would have to repossess his/her body. It was a privilege reserved for rulers and nobles, but the regular Egyptians also had the right to mummify.

  7. Pyramids There are about 80 different pyramids in Egypt The most popular pyramids are the ones in Giza, some even known as the most largest structures ever built.
