  4. A glimpse of personal responsibility Here are a few short video clips that display personal responsibility in different ways. The first clip shows an NFL player taking personal responsibility for his actions. In the second clip, a group of four football players takes personal responsibility when they believe a store is open when it is in fact closed. And the third clip shows the fallout of a food fight that occurred at a high school.

  5. Questions to think through Personal Responsibility How did Dak Prescott show personal responsibility in this clip? Why did Dak Prescott go to pick up his trash? Did he have to do this? Would someone else have had to pick up his trash if he did not? What does Dak s actions say about who he is as a person? Why is character often described as doing the right thing when nobody is watching? Do you think that Dak knew that cameras were on him?

Could the football players just have taken the items without paying for them since no store employees were present? If they had just taken the items without paying, do you think this would have turned out differently for them? How did these players show good character?

Is being honest about what you have done always associated with taking personal responsibility? Do people sometimes receive consequences for making mistakes? What role do consequences play in taking personal responsibility? How do you feel about the parents disagreeing with consequences for their child s actions? Are they stopping their child from taking personal responsibility for the actions?
