  1. ABOUT ME: CRYSTAL ELLISON GOAL: To become an Attorney ACCOMPLISHED: I became an attorney 5 years ago! MISSION: I wanted to help people 8 siblings I am the only one who went to college and graduated Assistant Public Defender 2 Children (fun fact my daughter is in 4thgrade too) Grew up in Wyandotte County, Kansas Attended M.E. Pearson Elementary when I was in the 4thgrade

  2. STAYING FOCUSED How can you stay focused on your work? Treat online schooling as if you re at school in person Stick to your school schedule Think of upcoming rewards or hobbies after school work Turn off electronics while you re working (cellphone, TV, etc.) NO YOUTUBE Everyone loves YouTube! Don t understand a problem: reread the problem

  3. OVERCOMING OBSTACLES/PROBLEMS Stay positive! You can do this! Don t be afraid of a challenge challenges are what make us stronger and smarter Try your best and never give up Break it up don t deal with the huge problem, break it up and deal with one thing at a time. (Math example) Don t keep your feelings to yourself

  4. HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED Miss your friends? Set up a zoom party! Set short term and long term goals (CHIEFS FANS?) Encourage yourself Be a leader Feeling overwhelmed? Ask your parent/guardian about 10 & 5 min hall-house-pass Something to look forward to: Think about upcoming break/snacks Think about your favorite subject that s scheduled for the day (PE, art, music)

  5. FUN AT HOME ACTIVITY CALLED: MY ACCOMPLISHMENT BOX What do you need? Examples: Shoe box / box 1. I participated in class today. Decorations 2. I helped my mom with the laundry. Paper 3. I cleaned up after myself without be asked to do so. Pen 4. I turned in all of my work on time. What s Next? Then, write those accomplishments on a piece of paper and put them in the box. At the end of the week, dump them all out to see how much you ve accomplished. Restart next week! Decorate the box Throughout the day think about things that you ve accomplished.
