  3. How did the war officially Start? The Civil War began when Southern troops bombarded Fort Sumter, South Carolina www.civilwar.com

  4. Why did this war even happen? The southern states wanted slavery and the northern did not. www.civilwar.com

  5. What was the first battle? The first battle to take place was at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. South Carolina was also the first state to separate. www.civilwar.org
