BIOGRAPHS OF INTER CAHMBER CONFERENCE EXTERNAL PRESENTERS Prof. Stephanie Matseleng Allais is : Research Chair of Skills Development and Professor of Education at the Centre for Researching Education and Labour (REAL) at Wits University. Researches international education and development, focused on education/ work relationships. Books include: 1. Knowledge, Curriculum, and Preparation for Work, published in 2018 by Brill/SENSE, with Yael Shalem, 2. Selling Education Out: National Qualifications Frameworks and the abandonment of Knowledge, published in 2014 by Sense. Prof. is: 1. Editor of the Journal of Vocational Education and Training, and 2. On the editorial boards of: 2.1 The Journal of Education and Work, 2.2 The Curriculum Journal; 2.3 The International Journal of Training and Development, 2.4 Social Inclusion, and 2.5 The Journal of Continuing and Adult Education. Previously, Prof was: 1. A fellow at the Centre for Educational Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, and 2. A research associate at the International Labour Organization. Other prior work experience includes work for: 1. South African government 2. South African Trade Unions and 3. Many non-governmental organizations.

BIOGRAPHS OF INTER CAHMBER CONFERENCE EXTERNAL PRESENTERS Prof Hoosen Rasool is: The Director of FR Research Services, a bespoke consultancy based in South Africa that specialises in labour market research, customised labour market research training and advisory services to strengthen national education and training systems. He has served as technical advisor to the Department of Higher Education & Training (South Africa) on strengthening the national skills system; the Namibia Training Authority (Namibia) on TVET; and the Human Resource Development Council (Botswana) on sectoral skills planning. He consults to several international agencies such as the ILO, European Union, GIZ and UNESCO. Prof Hoosen Rasool was Managing Director of the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) between 2008 and 2012 and Quality Assurance Director in 1998-99. He was Chief Executive Officer of the Clothing, Textile, Footwear and Leather Sector Education and Training Authority between 2003 and 2007. Prior to this, he was Education and Training Quality Assurance Manager of the same organisation between 1999 and 2003. Prof Rasool is actively involved with research on labour markets, migration, industrial policy, skills anticipation and matching, TVET in several countries. Prof Rasool and his research team have conducted upward of 70 research studies in the last 10 years. He is also a research associate of the Durban University of Technology and the University of Pretoria.
