The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Northwest is responsible for a wide array of installations in the Northwest region of the United States. From NAS Whidbey Island to Naval Station Everett, NAVFAC Northwest supports various commands and facilities critical to naval operations. The command implements small business set-asides and construction contracts for projects ranging from $100K to $50M. The area of responsibility includes key installations such as Naval Base Kitsap, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, and Naval Magazine Indian Island.

Architect-Engineering Contracting Architect and Engineering (A-E) contracts: Regionalized to reduce extensive time involved in slate/selection of firms Awarded as IDIQ contracts Large design projects are generally solicited as stand-alone contracts Opportunities: Sub-consultant to A-E firms with capacity to perform IDIQ contracts Member of construction design-build teams NAVFAC A&E Small Business Set-Asides: Primary use is for smaller type actions or specialized services A&E contracts: Selection of Architects and Engineers (formerly Brooks Act) Procedures and a minimum of 3 qualified firms 10 USC 2807 prohibits SBSA for MCON or family housing (threshold recently raised to $1M) 5 NAVFAC Northwest
