  10. Reading The Fisherman s wish Once upon a time, there was a fisherman who sailed with his son for many days without catching any fish. One day, there was a heavy thing in his net that was too difficult to pull. The fisherman and his son were surprised and thought that they caught a big fish. The fisherman s son had an idea. He pulled the net slowly until he suddenly heard a strange voice. He looked closer and found a tiny mermaid with a colourful tail. Please throw me back where I belong , the mermaid said. The fisherman and his son were surprised. Please help me get out of here , the tiny mermaid cried. The fisherman helped the tiny mermaid get out of the net and just before it disappeared, the mermaid said: Thank you for saving my life. Go back home and make a wish, then your wish will come true . The fisherman felt silly because he couldn t catch any fish and sailed back home. If I only caught some fish today, I would have sold them all at once , he said to himself. When he reached home he found a big box next to his door. When he opened the box he cried: That is what I wished for! . The fisherman and his son carried the big box full of fish and went to the market to sell them. When they returned home, he cooked the best fish dish. It is so delicious, thank you father . said the fisherman s son. English -Grade 6 Unit 9 Lesson 5 (Reading and Listening) Ministry of Education- Second Semester 2020/2021
