Nurse Family Partnership Nurse-Family Partnership is a , evidence-based, community health program with over 40 years of evidence showing significant improvements in the health and lives of first time mothers and their children. There is no cost to clients.
David Olds Founder from Conneaut, Ohio Graduate of Johns Hopkins University His work at a daycare led him to create a program that created supportive relationships between trained nurses and first-time at-risk moms Program was started in Elmira, New York, then Memphis Tennessee, and then Denver, Colorado Today the program serves low-income, first-time moms and their babies in 42 states, the U.S Virgin Islands and six Tribal communities
NFP Outcomes Improve Pregnancy Outcomes Improve Child Health and Development Improve the Economic Self-sufficiency of the Family
Registered Nurses Each new mom is partnered with a highly trained registered nurse early in pregnancy and receives ongoing home visits until the child reaches two years of age. Each nurse carries a caseload of 25-30 clients.
