It is not intended to be a full accounting of all policies/procedures or need to know items located on the COVID19 info site. Leaders/Managers review these documents Refer to the COVID unit playbook if your unit is also converting to a COVID Unit Determine with Site Leadership the following: What type of patient are you expecting to have in these areas? What resources are available from the site to support care of those patients? Operations Facilitate Training Determine which items non-nurse roles (HUC/CNA/TECH/UAP etc.) would benefit from reviewing prior to patient care and communicate expectation of review Consider highlighting key documents or COVID need-to-knows in each huddle on a rotating basis Work with leadership and NEPD team to set up shadowing time for staff on an inpatient unit SIMULATION Simulation team recommends a COVID Code simulation to minimize staff fears and improve comfort level during these critical situations Simulation team is also available to train staff on how to prone patients.
