Closing the Vocabulary Gap Teaching Disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Expression
9 Language for learning School Development Plan 2020-21 1.2. Curriculum Implementation: 1.2.4 Explicit vocabulary teaching, reading and disciplinary expression is at the heart of subject teaching and combats disadvantage to secure the highest levels of attainment.
You could use a Frayer diagram to help students make connections between the new word and words they already know.

The effects of the drug on patients behaviour is extremely difficult to evaluate. This activity encourages students to evaluate different points of view and present their own conclusions.
