Synonyms
A synonym is a word similar in meaning to another word.
Writers often use a synonym to make a sentence more effective.
For example:
 
After waiting for the bus for over an hour, Mandi
felt annoyed, frustrated and infuriated!

We are going to practise creating a list of synonyms.
How many synonyms can you jot down for the word 
sad
?
 
Here are some words that could have been used:
