  1. Meet my customers In this badge we ll: Find out where our customers are 1. Practice talking to some customers 2. Practice making change 3. Role-play good customer relations 4. Thank your customers! 5. Once we ve earned this badge, we ll feel comfortable finding customers and selling cookies to them.

  2. Before we begin

  3. Step 1: Finding where our customers are Who might want to buy Girl Scout cookies? Neighbors? Teachers? Let s make a list brainstorming who all might want to buy cookies.

  4. Step 2: Practice talking to customers Within your troop, take turns sharing information about Girl Scout cookies. You might share how much they cost, they kinds of flavors there are, or what your troop hopes to do with the money raised.

  5. Step 3: Practicing handling money and making change Virtually! The next few slides are some sample scenarios of selling Girl Scout cookies. While we don t have practice cash to use in person, we can still practice virtually!

  6. Step 3: Practicing handling money and making change Virtually! Example 1: A gentleman wants to buy 1 box of Caramel deLites. He pays with a $10 bill. How much change do we owe him?

  7. Step 3: Practicing handling money and making change Virtually! Example 2: A teacher wants to buy 1 box of Toast-Yays. She pays with a $5 bill. How much change do we owe her?

  8. Step 3: Practicing handling money and making change Virtually! Example 3: A mother wants to buy 2 boxes of Thin Mints and one bag of Caramel Chocolate Chip. She pays with a $20 bill. How much change do we owe her?

  9. Step 3: Practicing handling money and making change Virtually! Example 4: A college student wants to buy 1 box of Thin Mints 1 box of S mores 1 box of Caramel deLites And 1 box of Lemonades He pays with a $20 bill. How much change do we owe him?

  10. Step 4: Practicing Good customer relations With your troop, role-play what to do when: Customers ask for advice on which cookie to buy A customer tells you she used to sell Girl Scout cookies A customer buys cookies, then says they want to come back later to buy more

  11. Step 5: Thank your customers! Everybody who buys Girl Scout cookies is helping you and other girls have a great time in Girl Scouts! Say thanks by asking a grown-up to help you send a thank-you email to customers or decorate your own notecards to give out when cookies are delivered.
