  1. WHAT TIME IS IT? (Almost) Time for the 7hGrade.

  2. Lets talk about your course cards. Next year, you will take 6 classes: 4 Core Classes Language Arts Math Science Civics 2 Periods for Electives Unless you need to take Intensive Reading and/or Intensive Math, based on your FAST scores for reading and math this year

  3. Electives Full-Year Electives Beginning or Intermediate or Advanced Band Beginning or Intermediate or Advanced Chorus Beginning or Intermediate or Advanced Orchestra Theatre/ Drama ( Mandatory after school rehearsals) Spanish I HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT Male Chorus (Mrs. McCormick) Full year PE Semester Electives Art

Theater 1/ Drama Full-Year Class: Students will learn the basics of acting and stage production: Improve Characterization Set design Costumes/make-up Students can be in the theatre club that meets afterschool and has rehearsals. The class does not meet afterschool. *This class requires after school rehearsals*

  6. Chorus Mrs. McCormick

  7. Chorus All levels of Chorus participate in performances and competitions. Students who are currently in Beginning Chorus can sign up for Intermediate Chorus. Anyone interested in Advanced Chorus will need to audition with Mrs. McCormick.

  8. Band Mr. Wohl Beginning Band students learn how to read music and play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. Examples include the flute, saxophone, trumpet, drums, etc. 7th graders can also sign up for Beginning Band! If you have passed Beginning band you will be placed into intermediate band. If you are switching instruments you would go to beginning band. All levels of Band students play in performances, and Intermediate and Advanced Band students perform at competitions and football games.

  9. Orchestra Mr. Baggett Beginning Orchestra students also learn how to read music and play a string instrument. Examples include the violin, viola, cello, etc. 7thgraders can sign up for Beginning Orchestra! If you are currently in Orchestra you would be placed in orchestra 2. All levels of Orchestra students play in performances, and Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra students perform at competitions.

  10. Career and Technical Courses: Most 7thgraders are placed randomly in 2 semesters of Career and Technical Education classes as part of their electives. These include culinary, marketing, business computers In 7thgrade students can not request which ones they prefer In 8thgrade they can select the courses they did not get during 7thgrade

  11. Spanish 1 and 2 high school If a student wants to go directly to college or a university they need to take 2 years of a foreign language Two years of a foreign language are not required to graduate high school If a student wants to be in this class they need to place this class as their #1 choice If a student wants to be in the IB or Cambridge programs please contact those counselors for information about how this course may effect their GPA

Cambridge and IB students Students who are thinking about attending either Cambridge at Pasco High School or the IB ( International Baccalaureate) Program at Land O Lakes high school be aware that you should contact either of those schools to discuss high school courses that you are considering taking while in middle school and how this may effect you moving forward with your plans.
