  1. Ephesians 5:1-2

  2. Ephesians 5:12 1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

  3. Philippians 2:57 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant

  4. Advent Themes Hope, Joy, Peace, Love

  5. Moving From Valuing to Prioritizing: Spiritual Disciplines

  6. Spiritual disciplines are practices, grounded in Scripture, that help us grow and deepen our walk with Christ.

  7. What Spiritual Disciplines Are NOT

  8. #1. Spiritual disciplines are NOT a way to earn God s love and grace. Titus 3:5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

  9. #2. Spiritual disciplines are not the tax of the Christian life. 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

  10. Disciplines cramp my style.

  11. When you enter into the right disciplines, you don t lose freedom. You build it.

  12. Devotional Time: Bible study and prayer

  13. 1. Pause and Pray Open the eyes of my heart. 2. Read the Bible passage slowly (2-3 times) 3. Read devotional reflection. 4. Ponder and meditate. 5. Write. What did I learn? What do I feel God taught/showed me? 6. Write any next steps 7. Pray A.C.T.S.
