  1. Good Afternoon Hope you all are safe Always stay indoor don t go out

  2. The Sentences As you all know that sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense. For example 1. Anu is a good singer. 2. What is your name? 3. What a pleasant day it is! 4. Please bring a glass of water. A sentence always start with a capital letter and ends with a full stop (.), question mark (?) or an exclamation mark (!).

  3. There are four kinds of sentences. 1. Assertive or Declarative Sentences 2. Imperative Sentences 3. Interrogative Sentences 4. Exclamatory Sentences

  4. Assertive or Declarative Sentences Sentences which simply say or state something, are called assertive or declarative sentences. It ends with a full stop. For example 1. Ashoka was a great ruler. 2. Sachin is a good batsman.

  5. Imperative Sentences Sentence which expresses a command, a request or an advice are called an imperative sentences. It ends with a full stop. For example 1. Go out of the class. 2. Please pass me the sugar. 3. You should eat healthy food to stay healthy.

  6. Interrogative sentences Sentence which ask questions are called interrogative sentences. It ends with a question mark. For example 1. Did you finish your homework? 2. When will you go to the market?

  7. Exclamatory Sentences Sentences which expresses some strong feelings are called exclamatory sentences. It ends with an exclamation mark (!). For example 1. How exciting the trip was! 2. What an interesting match it was!

  8. Identify the following sentences as assertive, imperative, interrogative or exclamatory sentences. 1. Napoleon was a great leader. 2. I love reading story books. 3. Why are you sad? 4. What a delicious meal it was! 5. Open page number 30 of your English book. 6. What will you have, tea or coffee?
