In the realm of adult social care, discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of the Real Living Wage in April 2021 and proposed fee rate increases for 2021/22. The Real Living Wage, set at £9.50 for 2021/22, aims to uplift care and support staff pay rates. The proposed fee adjustments include an increase in hourly rates, reflecting rises in direct care costs, management staffing time costs, and other expenditures. These initiatives are seen as vital for enhancing performance and ensuring fair compensation for the adult care workforce.
