  1. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to have quick make-quick break operators on bolted pressure contact switches.

  2. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to pass UL977 FUSED POWER CIRCUIT DEVICES.

  3. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Most of our switches are rated a FULL 600 volts.

  4. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to mount the switch operator on the switch base panel. Prior to our entering the business the switchboard builder had to mount the switch, then mount the operator, then install and adjust the connecting linkage.

  5. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Whenever possible, we make our switches so they will stand up on a bench. This makes it possible to operate the switch before it is mounted in a switchboard cell.

  6. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We use formed copper pole parts. Formed parts are stronger, simpler, and run cooler. In some cases, we have only 1/3 the number of parts used by our major competitors.

  7. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Our arc chute does not restrict the size of bus bar that may be used. Bus bar can be wider than the switch terminals.

  8. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We use threaded inserts for the fuse bolts. This makes installing the fuses easier.

  9. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We put blade stops on the crossbar rather than on the blades. For easy inspection or maintenance, the blades may be dropped down . To drop the blades: 1. Rotate the contact lever as shown (arrow 1). 2. As it rotates, the blades will rotate down to allow improved access (arrow 2). Then when you return the blades to the original position, the linkage assembly will snap back into toggle.

  10. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to stop using ebony asbestos in favor of glass polyester base panels. We do not use any asbestos.

  12. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! 800 through 3000 ampere switches have the same basic dimensions for pole centers, mounting depth and base panel. They mount in the same space, using the same sheet metal.

  18. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Switch operation is not totally dependent on springs. ALL SWITCHES manufactured by BOLTSWITCH (Manual or Shunt Trip) can be opened with the handle, even if the opening spring is removed.

  19. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Our manual and Shunt Trip switches are designed so that: -handle is up, switch is on, -handle is down, switch is off.

  20. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We provide rails on the back of the switch base panel to allow the circulation of air, prevent the accumulation of moisture, and to guarantee isolation of live parts from grounded switchboard members.

  21. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We don t have to seal the bolt holes on the back of the panel, but we do. Why? Because we don t want someone to be surprised when a finger or a fish tape hits a live bolt head.

  22. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Our switches with Integral Ground Fault have the sensor mounted in the switch blade area. Bussing does not change. Sheet metal does not change. No additional space is required.

  23. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Our switches with Integral Ground Fault have the relay mounted on a three-way adjustable slide bracket. The relay can stay behind the access door, or extend through an opening in the enclosure front.

  24. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Our switches with Integral Ground Fault have a five-point terminal block with two jumpers. The jumpers can be removed to add accessories. No internal wiring changes.

  25. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! Each switch has a serial number. Records are kept by serial number showing the purchaser, shop order number, accessories and modifications.

  27. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We established a policy where we will not build two or more switches into one enclosure. We do not build switchboards. We do not compete with our customers.

  28. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We have the only Geneva operator for double throw applications. It is UL Listed and we have interconnecting bus that is UL Listed for withstanding 200,000 RMS symmetrical amperes.

  30. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to pass UL977 FUSED POWER CIRCUIT DEVICES that accept Class T fuses Series VT switches are rated 800 & 1200 A, 240 & 600 VAC. Very compact design.

  31. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We were the first to pass UL977 FUSED POWER CIRCUIT DEVICES, for use on Direct Current.

  32. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We developed 800 - 2000 amp Fused Power Circuit Devices that are extremely narrow. Series WL switches measure 19.5 wide, and will fit in a 20 wide section.

  33. We thought it was a GOOD IDEA, so we did it! We developed special padlocking provisions for our switches to meet strict E.U.S.E.R.C. requirements. Specify E.U.S.E.R.C. Padlock Clip when ordering this feature on a switch.
