  3. Heart of Justice: Ethics Award The University affirms a value system that actively supports peace with justice, respect of individuals and humanity, and the health of the planet and its people. Students are reflective about personal, professional, and societal values that support professional and social responsibility. The recipient of the Heart of Justice: Ethics Award embodies this core value.

  4. Heart of Justice: Ethics Award Winner Llambrini Duda Llambrini embodies this award because she wants to ensure that everyone feels respected and everyone is treated fairly both within the University and outside.

  5. Heart of Equality: Diversity & Inclusivity Award The University supports a diverse and inclusive environment where students recognize and benefit from the life experiences and viewpoints of other students, faculty, and staff. The recipient of the Heart of Equality: Diversity & Inclusivity Award embodies this core value.

  6. Heart of Equality: Diversity & Inclusivity Award Winner Jessica Bradley She emphasizes having open communication and welcoming all ideas, which is essential in being a critical thinker as a future attorney.

  7. Heart of Philosophy: Lifelong Learning Award The University promotes intellectual curiosity and the importance of lifelong learning. It teaches students how to learn, to think critically, to be capable of original research, and to access and integrate information to prepare them for continued personal and professional growth. The recipient of the Heart of Philosophy: Lifelong Learning Award embodies this core value.

  8. Heart of Philosophy: Lifelong Learning Award Winner Chanlon Kaufman He has not only been a teacher's aid for Civil Procedure, LSP, and Advanced Appellate Advocacy, but Chanlon also has made academics and research his focus during his three years in law school.

  9. Heart of Advocacy: Community Service & Civic Engagement Award The University asserts a commitment to improving and enhancing local, regional, and global communities. The recipient of the Heart of Advocacy: Community Service & Civic Engagement Award embodies this core value.

  10. Heart of Advocacy: Community Service & Civic Engagement Award Winner Arturo Montoya Arturo Montoya has demonstrated his commitment to enhancing his communities through his numerous involvements.

  11. Student of Distinction 3L Award Awarded to two 3L students who have made a substantial impact on the College of Law or College of Law students. Nominees should have a demonstrable history of school spirit, academic excellence, community service, networking, and/or competitive achievement on behalf of the COL.

  12. Student of Distinction 3L Award Winners Marcus King Marcus is someone who cares about helping his law school community and there isn t a person on campus who doesn t know Marcus.

  13. Student of Distinction 3L Award Winners Arianna Peregretti She has always been involved in the College of Law and she has also prompted others to become more involved on campus and in school.

  14. Student of Distinction 4L Award Awarded to one 4L student who has made a substantial impact on the College of Law or College of Law students. Nominees should have a demonstrable history of school spirit, academic excellence, community service, networking, and/or competitive achievement on behalf of the COL.

  15. Student of Distinction 4L Award Winner Sandra Ciprian More often than not, during these last 4 years, it was Sandye that has served as the link between the day and evening cohorts, by introducing students to each other, thereby growing and strengthening the larger La Verne Law family.

  16. Student of Merit 2L Award The Student of Merit Award will be awarded to a 2L student who has made a substantial impact on the school or the students. Nominees should have a demonstrable history of school spirit, academic excellence, community service, networking, and/or competitive achievement on behalf of the College of Law.

  17. Student of Merit 2L Award Winner Llambrini Duda Through her extracurricular roles, Llambrini gets to work in real-life cases and provide justice for those in need, and promotes diversity and thought in these groups while maintaining respect and valuing everyone.

  18. Student of Merit Part-Time Award The Student of Merit Award will be awarded to a Part- Time student who has made a substantial impact on the school or the students. Nominees should have a demonstrable history of school spirit, academic excellence, community service, networking, and/or competitive achievement on behalf of the College of Law.

  19. Student of Merit Part-Time Award Winner Sandra Ciprian With most students juggling full-time jobs and part-time study of law, Sandye concluded she needed something even more challenging being a full-time mom to her fellow students.

  20. The Held Commitment to Service Award The Held Commitment to Service Award is awarded to a student, faculty, or staff member who exemplifies a commitment to service. This award is a recognition of his or her extra efforts to improve the La Verne Law experience and positively affect the culture on campus and in the community. This individual demonstrated their commitment through the generous contribution of their energy and unique talents to unselfishly act as a resource for the support and encouragement of La Verne students beyond the classroom.

  21. The Held Commitment to Service Award Winner Arturo Montoya Art continues to show that the work is never done and he continues to be a tireless advocate for the social issues that our society faces.
