INTRODUCTION An update on the implementation on progress is provided for various infrastructure projects in the Annual Performance Plan the following categories: Community Based Tourism Projects the bulk of which are the development or upgrading of accommodation facilities Maintenance of Provincial Tourism Assets - this work involves maintenance, beautification rehabilitation of terrain, landscaping, paving, painting, fencing, electrical,etc. and enhancement e.g. 2

3. EASTERN CAPE (1) Implementing Agent and Projects DBSA Progress Provincial maintenance: state-owned assets 1. Thomas Baines Nature Reserve- Makana LM, Sarah Baartman DM 2. Double Mouth Nature Reserve Great Kei LM,Amathole DM 3. Oviston Nature Reserve Walter Sisulu LM, Joe Gqabi DM 4. Mpofu and Fordyce Nature Reserve Raymond Mhlaba LM, Amathole DM 5. Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve - Dr Beyers Naude LM,Sarah Baartman DM 6. Cwebe & Dwesa Nature Reserves 1. Thomas Baines Nature Reserve Progress is at 99% (Q1 70%). Project start date 2023-02-08 and expected end date 2023-08-08. 2. Double Mouth Nature Reserve PC* achieved. Project start date 2023-01-25 and expected end date 2023-07-06. 3. Oviston Nature Reserve Progress is at 99% (Q1 89%). Project start date 2023-01-25 and expected end date 2023-07-25. 4. Mpofu and Fordyce Nature Reserve Progress is at 28% (Q1 - 3%). Project start date 2023-06-02 and expected end date 2023-12-02. 5. Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve Progress is at 80% (Q1 - 41%). Project start date 2023-01-25 and expected end date 2023-09-30. 6. Cwebe & Dwesa Nature Reserve Progress is at 20% (Q1 3%). Project start date 2023-06-01 and expected end date is 2023-12-01. * PC: Practical Completions: project is completed - it is a short period to deal with snags before final certificates are issued 3

4. EASTERN CAPE (2) Implementing Agent and Projects Progress DBSA Community-based tourism projects: 1. Maluti Hiking Trail, Matatiele Local Municipality (LM), Alfred Nzo District Municipality (DM) - Construction of 4 lappa s, 3 pedestrian bridges,fencing of accommodation sites. 1. Maluti Hiking Trail PC achieved (Q1 - 98 %). Project start date 2022-07-07 and expected end date 2023-07-07. 2. Mthonsi Lodge, Nkonkobe LM, Amathole DM - Construction of thirteen (13) chalets, 2 lappa s, staff accommodation, guard house, admin/restaurant building,backpackers and internal roads. 2. Mthonsi Lodge Progress is at 73% (Q1 - 40%). Project start date 2022-11-14 and expected end date 2023-11-14. 3. Qatywa Lodge, Mbhashe LM, Amathole DM - Construction of guard house, refuse area, 2 lappa s, laundry room, staff accommodation, fencing,conference building,restaurant,curio shop and parking area. 3. Qatywa Lodge Progress is at 48% (Q1 - 22%). Project start date 2023-01-16 and expected end date 2024-01-16. 4. Nyandeni Chalets , Nyandeni LM, OR Tambo DM - Construction of admin building, 4x 3bedroom construction of a guard house, staff accommodation, refuse room, internal walkways. 4. Nyandeni Chalets Progress is at 99% (Q1 - 75%). Project start date 2022-08-15 and expected end date 2023-08-15. chalets, 2x 2bedroom chalets, 5. Western Tembuland, Emalaheni LM, Chris Hani DM - Construction of conference facility, restaurant, guardhouse, museum, craft center, 14 chalets,parking area,walkways and construction of a swimming pool 5. Western Tembuland PC* achieved (Q1 - 95%). Maria Moroka Resort Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality 3. Phillip Saunders Resort - Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality 4. Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve - Maluti-a- Phofung LM,Thabo Mofutsanyana DM 1. Gariep Dam Resort Progress is at 90% (Q1 - 25%).Project start date 2023-03-14 and expected end date 2023-09-14. 2. Maria Moroka Resort - Progress is at 70% (Q1 - 39%). Project start date 2023-03-15 and expected end date 2023-09-15. 3. Phillip Saunders Resort Progress is at 70% (Q1 - 40%). Project start date 2023-02-15 and expected end date 2023-10-30 4. Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve Progress is at 99% (Q1 - 92%).Project start date 2023-02-14 and expected end date 2023- 09-21. DBSA Community-basedTourism Projects: 1. QwaQwa (Accommodation) - Maluti-a-Phofung LM, Thabo Mofutsanyana DM 2. Vredefort Dome Interpretation Centre, near Parys Ngwathe LM,Fezile Dabi DM 3. Monotsha, Phuthaditjhaba (paved access road)- Maluti-a-Phofung LM,Thabo Mofutsanyana DM Guest House, Phuthaditjhaba 1. QwaQwa Guest House Progress is at 98% (Q1 - 90%). Project start date 2022-09-17 and expected end date 2023-09-29. 2. Vredefort Dome Interpretation Centre Progress is at 37% (Q1 - 35%). Project start date 2022-10-17 and expected end date 2023- 10-17. 3. Monotsha paved access road Progress is at 99% (Q1 - 73%). Project start date 2022-09-17 and expected end date 2023-09-17. 5

6. KWAZULU-NATAL (1) Implementing Agent and Projects DBSA Progress 1. Muzi Pan - Jozini LM,uMkhanyakude DM - Refurbishment of chalets, entrance gate, admin building/conference center and bulk services. 1. Muzi Pan Project is at procurement stage. Project start date 2023-10-13 and expected end date 2024-06-13. 2. Isibhubhu Project, Nongoma LM, Zululand DM - Refurbishment of a pavilion, change room, entrance gate. Construction of ablution facilities and internal road. 2. Isibhubhu Project Progress is at 80% (Q1 - 42%). Project start date 2023- 01-16 and expected end date 2023-09- 16. 6

Matsila Lodge Progress is at 55% (Q1 - 25%). Project start date 2023- 01-25 and expected end date 2023-12-14. 4. VhaTsonga Project at tender stage. Project start date 2023-10-23 and expected end date 2024-04-23. 5. Ngove Progress is at 20% (Q1 - 5%) Project start date 2023-06-19 and expected end date 2024-05-19. 6. Tisane Progress is at 53% (Q1 - 22%). Project start date 2023-01-25 and expected end date 2023-12-24. 7. Nandoni Dam Concurrence to appoint contractor being processed. Project start date 2023-04-26 and expected end date 2024-03-26. 2. Numbi Gate (Mdlhuli Safari Lodge) Progress is at 12% (Q1 - 5%). Project start date 2023-04-26 and expected end date 2024-03-26. 2. Numbi Gate - Mdlhuli Safari Lodge Construction of a new Cultural Centre 9

10. NORTHERN CAPE ImplementingAgent and Project Progress DBSA Community-basedTourism Projects: 1. Platfontein Lodge, 17km from Kimberley, Sol Plaatje LM,Frances Baard DM - Construction/refurbishment of accommodation facilities. 1. Platfontein Lodge Specialist studies have been commissioned in order to inform the final concept report. Project start date to and end date to be determined. 2. Kamiesburg This is a heritage site and detailed specialist studies are required, therefore the Design Development report is expected in December 2023. Project to commence on the 2023-12-19 and end date to be determined. 2. Kamiesburg, Kamiesburg LM, Roodebergskloof Farm - Construction of chalets, kitchen, restaurant and pool. 10

11. NORTH WEST Implementing Agent and Project Progress DBSA Community-based tourism Projects: 1. Manyane Mahikeng LM, Ngaka Modiri Molema DM - Refurbishment of chalets, admin block, hall and swimming pool. Lodge, Mafikeng Game Reserve 1. Manyane completed but the project needed to be retendered. Project start date 2023-10-30 and expected end date 2024-04-30. Lodge Tender evaluation had been 2. Lotlamoreng Dam, Mahikeng LM, Ngaka Modiri Molema DM - Construction of day visitor facility. 2.
