  1. 01. Genetics A family history of asthma or other allergic conditions significantly increases the risk of a child developing asthma. 02. Allergens Exposure to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, mold, pet dander, and cockroach droppings can trigger asthma symptoms in susceptible children. 03. Respiratory Infections Frequent respiratory infections, particularly viral infections like the common cold or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), can lead to the development of asthma in children. 04. Environmental Factors Living in areas with high levels of air pollution, cigarette smoke, or other environmental toxins can increase the risk of asthma. 05. Obesity Overweight and obese children are more likely to develop asthma, potentially due to inflammation associated with obesity, as well as reduced lung function and increased pressure on the airways.
