An organizational assessment of Wharton Printing was conducted, resulting in a transition to Wharton Computing. Changes include the closure of the Print Shop, shift of retail function, and new processes for ordering paper and stationery. Campus Copy will now support printing needs, offering cost-effective solutions. Academic departments affected by additional printing expenses will receive budget variances. Maximum Graphics will be the sole provider of stationery and business cards.

  2. Organizational Assessment A comprehensive organizational review of Wharton Printing was conducted over the last year by an independent third party. Content Management function (i.e. Study.net), the priority of Wharton printing since its inception, will continue in its current form. The group is being transitioned to Wharton Computing, whom they have worked closely with over the past years. There will be no change in the process of creating and distributing course materials for faculty and students. The retail function within Wharton Printing that sells Wharton apparel will be moved to Executive Education with a focus on their clientele. Online purchasing through Promoversity will continue to be available. The Penn Bookstore also carries Wharton apparel. The Print Shop will close as of October 1. We are currently working with Campus Copy and other vendors to support Wharton departments, faculty, staff, and students with their printing needs moving forward. Wharton departments will now have the freedom to seek the best price, quality, and service in the marketplace. Executive Education has shifted their substantial print business to Campus Copy. Campus Copy has signed a confidentiality agreement with Penn/Wharton to insure confidential info (tests, personal info) are secured properly. 2

Transition Issues Additional Printing Expense Academic related departments who incur printing expense that was previously incurred by Wharton Printing related to course materials will be allowed a budget variance and will have their current expense budget adjusted for FY20. Ordering Paper Departments who were ordering their paper through Wharton Printing can order directly from Penn s preferred provider Telrose/Office Depot. Paper can be ordered directly through the Telrose Penn Page. Ordering directly will result in savings, due to no Wharton printing markup. Stationery & Business Cards All Wharton departments will resume using Maximum Graphics as our sole source provider of stationery and business cards. MARCOM has provided them with our current logos, colors, and templates. They have created Wharton landing pages on their website for easy ordering. The pricing will be significantly less expensive than Wharton Printing prices. Standards for stationery can be found on the MARCOM Website. Deviations must be approved by Dean s Office. 3

  4. Campus Copy Campus Copy Billing The least administratively intensive method will be to set up an annual PO with Campus Copy for your anticipated printing costs. Set up a house account with Campus Copy and be billed on a monthly basis for the monthly charges. Paying by Pro-Card should only be used in emergency cases. Submitting Orders to Campus Copy Campus Copy has an ordering portal where you enter your customer contact information (including PO#, Customer Account #) and order information (color, size, quantity, quality, due date, delivery info, & special instructions). The portal also allows for the upload of files to be printed.   6. Other Print Options University Copy Services, located in Houston Hall, has been in business for 40 years and can meet most printing needs in a timely manner.
