Findings and recommendations:
The group identified a realistic order of the issues that need to be
addressed during the coming years:
1. Intensification of training on inspection,
2. Improving the current infrastructure,
3. Improve the information system and
4. Legislation need to be approved quickly.
 
What has been done since?

Development of document(s) in the frame work of the :
On the importation protocols that will help applicants understand the
process and the costs involved 
Documents with roles and responsibilities of TZ partners around the G2G-
project. 
Formation of TZ quarterly technical meetings: PHS, TPRI, TOSCI, Seed
Unit, DCD, SAGCOT will meet every 3-4 months to discuss project
progress. G2G or CD-PIT would provide the resources needed for this
stakeholder meeting to happen. 
√ With the input of Edmond Ringo as
local coordinator
 
MALF needs to work on the status and mandate of PHS and have its own
financial system in support of their activities. 
Agency status in progress.
PHS and TPRI in order to perform their tasks need to develop a discussion
with the private sector and discuss a fee system. This in the interest of trade
of plants and plant products in general. 
Needs attention.

General assignment by the entire group for this workshop on the
organisation of phytosanitary inspection by PHS in Tanzania
Assignment 1: Formulate an advise on the current documents flow
for import and export, that could be improved at PHS.
Question to the group as an assignment: What should be the best
way of inspection (seed) potatoes at import and guarantee the
absence of Q-pests?
Assignment: what is done by PHS on the import inspection of
pesticides?

Working in the groups (4 groups)
 
Groups of 8 persons maximum.
Divide tasks within the group: group leader, collecting information,
preparing the PPT, or filling the flip-over, select someone to
present,
Each assignment try to change the task division
Please restrict yourself presenting no longer than 15 minutes
Speak out loud so everybody can hear what you are saying
Do not speak fast, but with a normal speed
