  41. The European Green Pact ACTION DIRECTIONS The environment and the circular economy Environmental degradation is expected to increasingly affect economic activities. It can produce extreme weather conditions, affect human health and reduce access to natural resources. The European Green Deal covers a number of key priorities, such as protecting the EU's natural capital, transitioning to a resource-efficient economy and protecting people from environmental pressures. EXAMPLES OF SUPPORT - Defining waste management policies at national and municipal level. - Developing strategies and national plans regarding circular economy. - Implementing tools for decarbonisation of industries. - Supporting water management and monitoring water-related services. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  44. Green Economy The internationally agreed concept is mentioned in the outcome document of the Rio+20 Conference "The future we want", namely, green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication represents different approaches, visions, models and tools available to each country, according to their national circumstances and priorities, in order to achieve sustainable development in its three dimensions (n. red.: economic, social and environmental). www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  45. Green Economy Climate change and the negative externalities of intensive economic activities have highlighted the need to transition to a new economic model based on reduced emissions of greenhouse effect gases, the use of renewable energy sources on a larger scale and increased energy efficiency. An important role in this regard is played by the actions to support some alternative economic elements, by introducing the concept of "green economy", in order to boost and accelerate the transition to an economy that maximizes the quality of life and minimizes the negative impact on the environment. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  46. Green Economy Green Jobs The International Labor Organization identifies green jobs as an essential feature of sustainable development and to be able to adequately respond to global challenges related to environmental protection, economic development and social inclusion. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  47. Green Economy Green Jobs The International Labor Organization (ILO) defines green jobs as "decent jobs that contribute to the conservation or restoration of the environment, whether in traditional sectors such as manufacturing and construction, or in new green sectors such as renewable energy and energy efficiency. Green jobs help to: - improve energy efficiency and raw materials; - limitate greenhouse effect gas emissions; - reduce waste and pollution; - protect and restore the ecosystems; - Support the adaptation to the effects of climate change. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  48. Green Economy Green Jobs At enterprise level, green jobs can produce goods or provide services that the environment can benefit from, such as green buildings or clean transportation. However, these green outputs (products and services) are not always based on green production processes and technologies. Therefore, green jobs can also be differentiated by their contribution to greener processes. For example, green jobs can reduce water consumption or improve recycling systems. However, green jobs defined by production processes do not necessarily produce environmental goods or services. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  49. Green Economy Green Jobs Thereby, green jobs can be of two types : A. Jobs in enterprises that produce goods or provide services that the environment can benefit from or conserve natural resources. or B. Jobs where workers' tasks involve greener production processes or that use fewer natural resources. www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union

  50. Easy-to-implement measures for a "green" business 1. Use lighting systems with LED technology Compared to other types of bulbs, LED bulbs do not contain toxic substances such as lead or mercury. LED bulbs use about 10 times less electricity than incandescent bulbs LED bulbs do not produce heat nor do they emit ultraviolet radiation, dangerous (at this low level) to the eyes www.interregrobg.eu The content of this material does not necessarily represent the official position of the European Union
