The Rio Olympics 2016 saw India's remarkable performance with achievements by athletes like PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik, and Dipa Karmakar. About Rio Olympics The 2016 Summer Olympics officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad and branded commonly known as Rio 2016 Its held in Maracan Stadium , Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 August to 21 August 2016. The Indian Olympic Association sent the nation's largest ever delegation for Rio, a total of 117 athletes India ranks 67thin the Rio Olympics.
ABOUT PV SINDHU Pusarla Venkata Sindhu Born 5 July 1995 Indian professional badminton player At the 2016 summer Olympics, she became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal
ABOUT SAKSHI MALIK Sakshi Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler Born 3 September 1992 In 2016 summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category Becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics
ABOUT DIPA KARMAKAR Dipa Karmakar Born 9 august 1993 She is the only gymnast who represented India at the 2016 summer Olympics. She is the first Indian female gymnast in 52 years She attained 4th position in women's vault gymnastics

Gujarat CM(Chief Minister) change Current CM(Chief Minister) of Gujarat: Vijay Rupani born 2 August 1956 is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party since 7th August 2016 Vijay Rupani and Nitin Patel were sworn in as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat respectively on Sunday at a swearing-in ceremony in Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. And a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly representing Rajkot west.
CONT. Ms. Patel even reportedly threatened to leave the meeting half way but Mr. Shah did not budge from his backing to Mr. Rupani, a senior party leader told The Hindu. The source said: Ms. Patel insisted that as agreed earlier, the party should go by seniority and select Nitin Patel because Mr. Rupani is a first-time MLA and lacks administrative experience.
RBI Governor India s new Governor: Urjit R Patel Born 28 October 1963 is an Indian economist, consultant and banker, currently serving as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Worked with the International Monetary Fund between 1990 and 1995 where he covered the US, India, Bahamas and Myanmar desks. Patel has also been Director of State Bank of India since February 2013 Was an advisor with Boston Consulting Group before his appointment as the deputy governor at RBI in 2013.
Role of RBI The function of the central bank of a country is to control and monitor the banking and financial system of the country. In India, the Reserve Bank of India(RBI) is the Central Bank. The RBI was established in 1935. It was nationalised in 1949.

Achievements Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has seen a great success. About 21 Crore accounts have been opened in just about one and half year under the scheme. Despite of zero minimum balance, there is 33074.89 crore rupees balance in these accounts with 28.88% accounts opened with zero balance.

A performance ranking is given to 476 cities based on open defecation and solid waste management practices. Top cities : Mysore, Trichirapalli, Navi Mumbai ,Kochi, Hassan ,Mandhya ,Bangluru, etc.
Make in India Launched: 25 September 2014 Main Objective: To encourage multi-national, as well as domestic companies to manufacture their products in India and create jobs and skill enhancement in 25 sectors. Job creation and skill enhancement in 25 sectors of the economy. The initiative also aims at high quality standards and minimizing the impact on the environment. The initiative hopes to attract capital and technological investment in India.
Smart City Mission Launched: 25 June 2015 Main Objective: To develop 100 cities all over the country making them citizen friendly and sustainable. Under the mission, the NDA Government aims to develop smart cities equipped with basic infrastructure and offer a good quality of life through smart solutions. Assured water and power supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport, robust IT connectivity, e-governance and citizen participation along with safety of its citizens are some of the likely attributes of these smart cities.
Skill India Launched: 16 July 2015 Main Objective: Train over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022. The main goal of Skill India Program is to create opportunities, space and scope for the development of talents of the Indian youth. Focus to revamp antiquated industrial training centers that will skill over 20 lakh people annually.
