Don Jones provided an update on the status of equipment upgrades and cable management tasks for June 6, 2024. The tech team removed enclosures with Simona's help, worked on soldering connectors, discussed cable layout with colleagues, and had undergraduates assisting on site. Initiatives included de-installing a prototype for further examination and organizing cable trays for various equipment connections. Specific details were shared about the types and quantities of cables, as well as the arrangement of detectors and FADCs in crates.

  2. Update Techs removed enclosure with Simona s help on Monday I am working with Lars who is going to solder on connectors to the heater power supplies so they can easily connect to Marc s chassis boxes I now have 1100 BNC-LEMO RG58 cables from Alex. He says he will order another 600 if we need them Tiger, the company that made the RG 174 BNC-LEMO cables that had so much noise, wants more information on what the issues are. How many were tested? What is the noise spectrum? Are they all bad? I met with Simona and Jimmy in the Hall to discuss layout of the DAQ and cables Is the best place for the extra cables alongside the equipment container? We now have 2 undergraduates onsite from VT, Ryan and Keagan, working along with Mahmoud. I plan to de-install the prototype today and get it moved to physics storage where I can take it apart and examine the crystals for clarity.
