Rapid Identification System for Inmate Release
The Rapid Identification System, also called Rapid ID System, provides a quick way to verify an inmate's identity using fingerprints before release from custody. It allows law enforcement agencies, including IPD users under SDSheriff, to log in and access the system. By searching the San Diego AFIS database, the system ensures accurate identification through fingerprint analysis. In cases where the right index finger is unavailable, alternative fingers can be used, with the left index finger being essential for system use.

The Web ID system has a log in list for all Law Enforcement agencies, for IPD users it will be SDSheriff. Each IPD users will log into the Web ID application using the Username assigned by SDLaw and their unique password.

The Rapid ID System searches the San Diego AFIS (automated fingerprint information system) database only. If you do not get a positive match, retry the process again. TIP: If an inmate does not have a right index finger, another finger may be used; however, there MUST be a left index finger to use the system.
