  2. In youth football finding the right backfield is difficult. Though speed is a great cover up it is not the only thing to look for! Look for these qualities as well -Footwork and Body Language -Physical Toughness -Blocking and Hands -Mental Toughness -Oh yes . Then SPEED

  3. BAD BEHAVIORS CORRECTIONS False Steps/Crossing feet Running tall Too much Juking (common trait of speed and not knowing how to use it) PA/Option Follow Through Poor Blocking Power Steps/Open Stepping Running Low Run to the assignments Repetitions

  4. BODY LANGUAGE DRILLS FOOTWORK DRILLS Downhill Reaction w/Catch and Bag Sweep Reaction w/Catch and Bag Directional Steps Counter Steps Sprint and Cuts 2 Point Stance 3 Point Stance Tacking a Hand-off Fake Hand-Off Chutes with Football

  5. Speed at times hides physical toughness!!! Ask yourself these questions??? Can the body take the play grind? Does the player have the power with the speed? Endurance?

  6. BAD BEHAVIORS CORRECTIONS Not following through with fakes Lazy Blocks Lazy Pass Routes Lazy Ball Carrying Reps Reps Oh yes reps!!!

  7. BLOCKING HANDS O-Line Drills Lead Blocks Faking a Handoff Pass Protection Drill/Outside Pass Block Mirror Block Short Pass Routes Receiving Toss or Pitch Zig Zag Cone Switch Drill Blind Ball Drill
