Under the FTUC banner, the Womens Committee together with the Youth Committee, participated in the UN 75 Community day event, held on 11th-12thDecember, Prince Charles Park, Nadi. After along time , this opportunity came along together with other govt ministries and CSOs We were invited by the ILO to utilise this platform in furthering our engagements with other stakeholders and the community. Our team (FTUC) was stationed within the ILO tent, along side FCEF and the team continued with registration of union members affected by the pandemic and also members that have already started small business. Our tent was visited by students, members and the general community and we distributed brochures, pamphlets and other educational material on FTUC. During the two day event, we saw that there is still a need of awareness to be made about the labour movement especially for students (secondary & tertiary level) as most of these students have limited information about the FTUC and also for those entering the labour force, We are grateful to all those that took time to visit us at the FTUC tent, including the Executives and members from FFATU, FASA and NUHCTIE. The ILO Director also came to see what we had on display.
