  4. Some words about mentoring Mentoring goes beyond just 'information' ... it is the transfer of wisdom and real-life experience from someone who has walked the path before. Political mentoring is significantly different from traditional mentoring: as elected representatives you must decide how to serve the needs of your electorate. There is no management-defined way to perform your roles and, although you need to know certain rules and procedures, guidance from experienced mentors is often needed. WFE believes that political mentoring will enhance your Masterclass training and provide benefits such as increased confidence and resilience.

  7. Some words about Accountability Accountability is the glue that binds the commitment to the result. There are two primary options in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them. It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.

  11. LETS REVISIT YOUR RUN UP TO E-DAY!

  12. Countdown to election day Use your 100-day countdown plan to make the most of your last months before the election 1. Launch! 2. Complete the VEC candidate training and get ready to nominate 3. Promote you and your message via online posts and traditional media (radio, newspaper etc.) 4. Meet people: Door knock, attend events across your municipality, distribute your flyers (letterbox drop, supermarkets, noticeboards)

  13. Countdown to election day 5. Advertise through social media and platforms 6. Comply with your obligations and follow the rules in the Candidate Handbook 7. Practice self-care. Schedule rest. Eat well. Hydrate. Be safe 8. Meet regularly with your team and volunteers 9. Consider if you will preference and how you will let voters know perhaps through flyers or mail 10. Prepare for E-Day; Nominate scrutineers, prepare your speech, press release and celebration traditional

  15. Next steps Break down your actions to small steps that will move your campaign forward. Aim to do one thing every week for the next 12 months. Then, from April 2024, do one thing every day Stay focused on your purpose, WHY you are standing Stay connected WLL Facebook group ASK for support to reach your goals If you are not running (or not now) support other women to stand. Share your experience and knowledge and build your skills
